The First Peoples Principles of Learning are a set of concepts designed to help guide the new development of the BC curriculum by integrating Indigenous knowledge and perspectives. They were developed by various Indigenous elders, scholars and knowledge keepers, to highlight the common learning and teaching elements through First Nation societies. These principles encourage a deeper connection to Indigenous culture and wisdom to create an inclusive environment that values our students learning experiences and fosters a sense of belonging and interconnectedness. While, also emphasizing that learning is not just an individual pursuit but a collective experience that is shaped through relationships.
